The Core Agglomerate is the designation given to the megacity composed by Urban Zone 01 and Urban Zone 02. The total population of the metropolitan area was estimated to be 17,200,000 in 2014, housing over 85% of the entire estimated population of the Structure. The Core is the economic and infrastructure heart of the Structure, and a prominent international financial center in its own right, as well as boasting a large and modern port. Urban Zone 01 hosts a large number of international companies and business interests driven by a competitive service-focused economy staffed by highly-trained workers. Urban Zone 02 is geared towards both heavy and light industry, resource processing, and shipping, and includes population-dense residential sectors to house workers.
